Motorcycle batteries require periodic maintenance especially if left unused or attached to accessories such as an alarm. It is unlikely a battery would last more than a few years anyway but to make sure you don’t arrive at your motorcycle one morning to find it doesn’t have enough voltage to turn the starter motor it is recommended you use a battery charger.
