Handlebar Risers

Handlebar risers provide a more upright, comfortable riding position by raising the original 22mm or 28mm diameter bars. No need to replace your handlebars - simply remove the original top clamp, place the riser between the handlebar and original bottom clamp, and reinstall the top clamp using the included hardware. Easy. Raise them straight up or bring them closer towards you, we have risers to suit everyones needs including up and back and adjustable styles.

These parts can only be used with the original top yoke. And for most bikes no change of control cables, wiring, or brake hoses are required. For most bikes fitted with conventional handlebars a riser of 20mm and 30mm bar risers can usually be used without having to change anything other than a bit of re-routing or unstrapping from around the headstock area.

However, the installer should always check for adequate cable/wiring/hose slack after installing any handlebar riser! Simply put, the amount of cable slack varies on factory bikes even within a single model and year, so while 99.9% of all bikes will not need adjustment of cables to install handlebar risers, you should always check for adequate slack after installation.

To use a 50mm extension it is very likely you will need to fit extended cables and brake hoses as well as re-routing the wiring.

There are two reasons to fit this type of accessory to your bike. The most obvious is to improve the riding position but it could also save you the cost of buying a new bike. Raising bars on retro and off road bikes is usually very easy but bikes with clip-ons it can be a little more difficult. Genmar offer a few well designed spacer blocks but in most cases replacement bars or a yoke conversion will be required. Please browse our store for more parts for your bike.
